The CX30 OEM battery appears to be woefully inadequate. I can’t even keep a charge overnight and it’s a 1 year old 2022 cx-30 tpp. Looked online and can’t even find a battery to replace it with. Autozone and Napa no luck. Anyone know where I can find a premium AGM battery to replace this thing with?

I too have a 2022 Turbo Premium Plus and have never had any battery issues. I can go for a week or two without using, and it will fire right up. I travel for work monthly, and when I do, will leave car at uncovered/outdoor parking at airport in winter in CT (can get cold at night)....and when I come back, often at midnight, it always starts right up. Granted, it never oozes confidence, as its a slow cranker in general (likely going to your point about the battery perhaps being undersized). So I guess I am saying, since its so new, I'd think about taking it to dealer, and if battery is as bad as you say, perhaps they will give you a new OEM one under warranty....and hopefully you will have better luck with that one. Perhaps you just got a lemon battery.

Sounds possible on the lemon battery. I‘d pay to replace it with a high-tech AGM battery, but at this point finding a fit appears difficult. Since I’m due for 10K service anyway, guess I’ll just go for a warranty replacement and see how it goes.

NAPA #BAT 9847? I'm showing available here in Detroit area. Unless I'm wrong, website shows exact fit.

Did you test or have the battery tested?
Battery is quite adequate from the factory.
Some have had issues in the past, most have not.
There is a lot of info on this forum related to parasitic draw and FOBs, as well as bad cells in the batteries themselves.

Mine‘s been habitually weak. It’s never sounded all that strong to begin with. First it was it wouldn’t start after 5 or 6 days, then less and less. Now it won‘t even go overnight. Probably not as big a deal in the warmer states. I’m going to measure the voltage, charge it, and see if it drops and at what rate. I’m sure my dealer will replace it under warranty, but probably with same weak oem battery. I’d rather get something stronger if possible, but if not, I’ll live with it. I’ll ask about any firmware updates that might address it also.

9.75 volts. I’ll charge it fully then observe. If it drops, then it’s parasitic something. If it holds, then maybe my alternator is a lemon.

You could ask your dealer if there is a higher Amp hour rated battery available for it. If so, and they agree your battery is crap, perhaps they will warranty up to the OEM value, and you can pay them the difference to upgrade. Just spit balling ideas.

Have you installed anything aftermarket...dash cam, radar detector, etc? Anything plugged into any of the outlets (USB, etc?)

Good ideas, I will definitely try for that at the dealer.

I do run with an Escort Redline 360c, but I never leave it plugged in. Nothing else plugged in and no other accessories. Plus I always have the key fob in a faraday cage so there‘s no communication or polling. Should be back up to 12v this evening and I won’t be driving the car anywhere. So I’l, see what happens overnight. However, now that you mention it, although no accessories are plugged in to the usb cables, the thingy you plug into the cigarette lighter does stay plugged in. Don’t immediately understand how that could drain power since the accessories are not plugged in, but who knows. Maybe I’ll just pull that out. Maybe the computer senses something is plugged in and keeps some internal process alive.

never a starting problem since purchasing the CX-30 over two and half years ago and most of the time it sits for one to two weeks at a time year round.
