Noticed that my cx-30 Premium did not come with the flat cargo cover in the rear area. It is shown in much of the mazda illustrations but is not mentioned as a feature of the vehicle. Dealer says that it must be ordered separately as an accessory but it is not yet listed on any web site. Did any else find a similar situation or did their's come with the cover?

Thanks for the reply MAZman, that is indeed the item I am referring to. None of the cars I've seen at dealer in the US have had them.

I think in the US they are considered an accessory for the cx30, and are not included... which is very strange because I believe they are included with the mazda 3 and cx5
When I purchased my CX30 (a month ago), it wasn’t included, the dealer ordered one and it arrived next day.
An update on my original post. My dealer has arranged to order a cover for me. The price is about $150 plus tax and does not include delivery to me which is not really a problem as I live nearby. Don't know what the wait will be but hopefully not too long.

The covers that are no on us spec 30’s are a cost cutting measure in competitive marketplace...as well as homelink mirrors, cargo mat, and door sill protectors. I got a cargo cover delivered to me for about $120 and took 3 mins to install. It is an item that is so needed for this car.
Cover delivered to dealer this past Monday(2/17) and installed by me. Thanks for all the replies.

We just picked up our Premium this weekend but will be going back Wednesday to finalize the paperwork so I'm going to ask to have one thrown in.

They had one in stock when we signed the papers so we got one along with the rear cargo tray. I picked up the high wall all weather mats, sun shade, and rear bumper protector yesterday and I put the mats and shade in last night while my wife was asleep. I'll be installing the rear bumper protector this weekend.
The rear cargo cover was something she really wanted so we were glad they had it in stock but we were also kind of wondering why it wasn't standard.

My GT came with the cover. I don't care for it. Seems cheap and doesn't look as nice, no place to store it so it's not as functional as the retractable ones. I bought this great SUV that was a bit expensive and I got a cover that looks like it's off of a 1990s car.
OK, what does GT stand for as I haven't seen that designation here (USA)? Thanks. My turbo is AWD & Machine Gray Metallic.
GT is just the top trim in Canada, so real leather, sunroof, Bose, etc. I think all the models in Canada might come with the tonneau cover, but I also think (bizarrely) that none of the US models do, even the top trims there.
There's definitely no laws requiring it - I know several manufacturers and vehicle trims that do not include it as standard but rather a dealer-sold option. I'm just surprised that, even accounting for the value of the dollar and vehicle pricing, that US models don't have heated steering wheels nor heated side mirrors, and no rear parking sensors, all of which are on the Canadian models.
