Dec 13 - first thoughts from the two guys at Straight Pipes. I suspect they will do a full review when they get back home to Toronto when the Canadian version becomes available.

Wow, I had three Kia's too. A Sportage and two Souls. Liked them and never had problems untill the 2014 seized due to lack of oil. The best part is the dealer had no explanation, they did however cover half the cost to remanufactured the engine. I am now the proud owner of a CX-30 GT. Love it and the Mazda reliability, non-turbo engine, non CVT combined with luxury did it for me.

My first Kia was a 2008 Rondo EX, then I traded it and got a 2012 Soul 4u, and now my 2016 Soul SX. All of them I did not have a single power-train problem. The Rondo I had 4 problems all covered under warranty, nothing major; the Soul 4u I only had one single problem with it (fogged up backup camera), my current Soul which I have now owned for over four years I have not had a single problem. So they have been very reliable and cheap to maintain.

I tend to change every 4-5 years, this time I wanted to make a change from the Soul. I did take a look at the 2020 EX Premium, but just didn't do it for me this time, considered the possibility of the Seltos (same size as the CX-30), but they only offered FWD in the base LX model, this led me to look at the CX-30 GS FWD. Also there appears to be quite a few problems with the IVT that is used on the new Soul.
