About to buy a new 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition. The dealer is recommending the Wheel/Tire with the Optional Cosmetic Coverage since the wheels are black and the tires are low profile. They are offering me this package for $1295, which will include coverage for 72 months. They are also pushing the extended warranty, which I will not be getting for $1,900. This would include bumper-to-bumper coverage for 8 years or 75K miles.

What are everyone's thoughts on the wheel package and do the above prices appear reasonable?

I leased it in June. I turned in my 2020 CX-30 six months early which had 20K miles on it. I got what I wanted but may have “left money on the table”. I didn’t discuss the tire package until after we had agreed to my lease payment and then talked about the wheel and tire package. I said I would agree to a $10 monthly add on and settled for around $11. I don’t have the black rims, but it also coveres 3 or 4 dentless ding repairs on the body work.

Can buy a set of 4 with tires for less than OP’s insurance quote. Just store them in the basement.

Don't buy any of this "fill the dealers pockets" stuff. Put the money in the bank nd pay for what you may need as you go.

The finance office is just that, a place for money to be made by dealers. Rustproofing, undercoating, PPF, tire and rim coverage, extended warranties all of it. Now some items are worthwhile, BUT not at the inflated rates charged by the dealers. Huge pass on your quoted coverages.
BTW if you are leasing it, why would you want an extended warranty?

I just ordered my CX30 and now playing the waiting game but they tried to get us to buy the extended warranty. Now I don't think it's worth it but the finance guy started telling us that it will cover any computer issues that could arise with the vehicle and that they are making these cars to be dissposable now a days. I was like FTW did you just say to me. Also I did opt for a proctection package for the PPF, undercoating and rust. Now keep in mind where I live we do get winter. So the PPF is an absolute must becasue they use gravel on your roads. I know I can get it done elsewear but it would be nice to have it done prior to driving off the lot.

Anyone recently purchased a extended warranty, I am not likely to get one unless the price is very discounted, would love to hear prices even if you decided not to purchase one, my build is1-2 week out

Well not sure in the USA, but here in Canada we can buy the extended warranty right up to the point just before the initial 3 year warranty expires. So for me it’s a wait and see if this is a long term vehicle I want.

0.9% for 3 years? Wow, I remember those numbers, many, many years ago.
Almost free financing.

I didn't get any of that extended warranty or wheel coverage. The finance guy pretty much knew after 20 minutes, that I wasn't going to budge. Just take good care of your car and it should be fine. I've had mine for 1 year and still running great. The premium gas can get costly but I want to keep my turbo premium running good.

Well there could be some valid points for an extended warranty on todays tech laden new vehicles.
How many here have the ability to service their vehicle beyond basic maintenance?
Tires, oil and filter, plugs, sure I can do it. Diagnose, replace the myriad of electronic gadgets, not a chance. Which brings me back to when my wife (a Mopar Service Manager) told me the pricing for replacing moonroofs, infotainment controllers and transmissions. Extended warranties are like insurance, you might need it, you might not. A small note on their features is most are transferable when selling and can be an excellent resale perk for buyers.
Consider the cost at the time of purchase, if you are financing the amount can be a fairly insignificant addition to your monthly payment. A rule of thumb I learned many years ago when I financed vehicles was to never take a loan term longer than the warranty.

I don’t know what it’s like in the US or Canada, but in the UK a franchised main dealer will have a workshop Labour rate of £120-140 / hour. So extended warrranties can be well worth it, given that Mazda aren’t a make that has a network of independents (like, say, Audi, Mercedes or Jaguar) where rates are about 50% of main dealers. Our local mechanic would be baffled by a Skyactiv-X engine.

I completely agree , normally I pay for a car in full, I hate the idea of racking up a bunch of interest on a deprecating asset , I am only financing because of a . 9% rate for 36 months , one thing that I am bothered by is that if I set aside $1500 for 5-7 years it will double in the market, probably more at our current environment.
