I completely agree , normally I pay for a car in full, I hate the idea of racking up a bunch of interest on a deprecating asset , I am only financing because of a . 9% rate for 36 months , one thing that I am bothered by is that if I set aside $1500 for 5-7 years it will double in the market, probably more at our current environment.
I would love to double my money in 7 years. It would be a return of 1511.88 at 10% compounding interest for $3011.88. Where is that? That's out there but I believe it must be in private markets. If you have info, private message me.

Sorry I shouldn't have gotten so off topic, here is the last I will say about investing, I have been fascinated by it for a really long time, it's very simple math, you can Google it , I have averaged 10.2% for 42 years, I just looked at it my returns, you have to understand that you can loose 20% or more 1 year, then make 15% for a few years and so on , 10% if over a 10 year or more period. From Google below.

Looking at the S&P 500 for the years 1992 to 2021, the average stock market return for the last 30 years is 9.89% (7.31% when adjusted for inflation).

True, however, markets today are suffering, Long shot on tesla in March of 2011 has paid 65%. Like to hit that again. Looking for hidden possibilities.

Well there could be some valid points for an extended warranty on todays tech laden new vehicles.
I got five years warranty included with the car, I think it's up to six now for Mazda.

I purchased two extra years for somewhere around 300-400 EUR. It seemed like a good deal to me, it does not cover the whole car, but if anything covered by this extended warranty breaks down it's going to cost significantly more than 400 EUR.

Driving a 186HP car already puts me in the highest tax bracket, so I'm going to pay more taxes for owning such a car than I paid for an extended warranty. At least from an extended warranty I can get something in return.

Plus, my plan is to sell the car when it turns six. So having one more year of warranty should be appealing to potential buyers.

I was offered 7 years for $900 on a select model , I cant remember how many miles, I only drive 5,000 at most a year I declined, I noticed on the .9 % Mazda finance offer is through Toyota, I could not pass that up as the life of loan interest is just over $300 .
