I took delivery of a Mazda CX30 (in Australia) in March 2020. I have completed >1,900 kms.
Very happy with the car apart from a very annoying rumble noise on roads except for very smooth pavement.
It sounds like a body panel "vibration" rumble from the rear.
I cannot locate source. Can any forum members shed light on this annoying problem with an otherwise very quiet car? Thanks

Welcome to the forum @MazdaAl. It seems you're not the only one that's heard noises like that on rough roads. Hopefully whatever the problem is, it's a quick and easy fix.

I took my CX30 Astina to my dealer on Tuesday at 7.45am and took a service supervisor for a drive to hear the noise. I was then asked to leave the car with them and was given a CX3 courtesy car. Update from service dept on Wednesday advised me that they were still chasing the origin of the noise. Mid morning Thursday I was told they needed it for the day. They had checked internals of rear tailgate door and rear doors, seat belt retraction points etc. Thursday at 1pm they called to say they believed they had found the culprit. The sun roof track rear attachment point.
i picked the car up at 3.45pm and drove about 20kms over varying road surfaces on the way home and so far no rumble evident.

The service department report stated:
"Found rattle from sunroof sliding cover. Insulated brackets behind roof lining as required. Road tested, all OK."

Grateful for the Mazda dealer service guys perseverance.
