Hi all,

I just bought a new car Mazda CX30 2023 Selec. And I want to buy a dashcam for it.

Is there any dashcam that have a big screen that have live view function yhat can view the car from back through rear camera on the dashcam screen?

I know there are mirror rear view dashcam have that function. I currently using Vantrue rear view dashcam for my old Toyota camry. But I want to change to something other than that.

I see there are 4 channels dashcams that can cover all angles front, left, right and rear like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C2THHVB?ref_=cm_sw_r_mwn_dp_6KNK1BFEPB10XESGVMFJ

Is any body using it? What is the quality? Good?

And finally, I must need to have the parking mode for the dashcam. Because, my car will park on the street always.

But the CX30 doesn't have ACC fuse in the inside fuse box. Therefore, I cannot hardwire it.

So, can I use the ODB2 power adapter for the dashcam for parking mode?

Thank you all!!!

Hello all,

Would need all your help.

Really would like to know how you guys handle the dashcam with parking mode without ACC hardwiring for the CX30.

Can you please give some recommendations for the dashcam model, and the kit that I can buy so that I can install the dashcam with parking mode?

Thank you so much!

Hey -congrats and welcome. There's a search tab top center that brings up a bunch of threads - Search results for query: dashcam

I ended up using a very long USB cable to the center console.
The USB port will shutdown power around 2-3 minutes after the ignition is off. So, it cannot be use for parking mode.

Any solution that can use parking mode without hardwiring?? Because there is no ACC fuse .

Can the ODB2 power cable really work for parking mode and will it work for every dashcam that have parking mode function?

I would be hesitant about adding any additional electronics or added parasitic draw to newer, tech-bloated cars. Seems to lead to more incidents of battery discharge/failure among all brands these days.

So, how did you install for the dashcam? Do you use the parking mode?

Looking forward to hear more recommendations for how to install and what brand dashcam I should use for this car.

Thanks!

The parasitic draw from using parking mode is probably high enough to drain the battery over the course of just a few days, however your camera does have a low-voltage cut off feature so that's a plus.

I purchased a Blackvue Dashcam thats available here is Aust. It also has a Battery pack available. What I have done is purchased both, the battery pack powers the Dashcam in parking mode and charges via the big 12V charger in the Arm console when the car is used. My setup is not connected to the car except for that part as I had a "discussion" with my local Mazda dealer and came to the conclusion wiring it in perm wasn't a good move for me.

Hi Liongkong
I purchased the DR750X-2CH and the Blackvue Battery B-124X. It looks like they now have a new battery out as well, slightly bigger, which is annoying because I only purchased mine end of Nov, but there you go. I am not sure if the battery pack powers the dashcam the whole time because the car is still a weekend driver and I dont use it for work so it sits in the carport most of the time not charging the blackvue battery but it seems to work.

I had posted here about the Blackvue Dashcam, at the time I was unaware they had updated their app last week. I have to say that since the update they are no longer no where near as great as they were, the app completely changed the game in accessing the camera and videos and they now also want to charge a subscription monthly for "ïn the cloud" services. The catch is even if you say no it pops up every day. The other thing is internet access is apparently now required for the app to work.
Real disappointment as the camera itself is a ripper and it was only fitted in my car last Dec.
