i hardly drive our cx30, but i get in and press the clutch to start and then try to drive off... the handbrake will not release, so i then have to go into neutral and press the brake and clutch then the handbrake releases, so im not a fan of the epb, but as say i hardly drive it, the Mrs loves it..

I drive my wife’s UK CX-30 auto from time to time and the parking brake releases automatically when in D as you start to move forward. Similarly, when you put the car into P the brake is automatically reapplied.

hello friend,

if you have the door closed and your seat belt on it will release automatically when you switch to drive and press down on the gas pedal

Normally I feel the resistance when hitting the gas and immediately stop to manually disengage it. I never realized you could just drive and let it take care of it automatically. Today for the first time I let it disengage automatically … I didn't like it :) I know I'm not, but I feel like I'm breaking something. I'll go back to manually doing it, but I guess it's good to know there are options.
