Yep had that today, basically the car is not safe to use until they thaw out.
Not had this on previous cars with folding mirrors so a bad design flaw.
Solution as suggested is to disable the auto folding of the mirrors in the winter months.
Not great though as I use the folding / folded mirrors as visual confirmation the locking of the car has happened.

I'm in Canada and I had power folding mirrors on my previous vehicle (different make) and they recommended disabling the folding system for the winter months to prevent any possible damage. I used them to visual confirm the locking of the car (miss that feature), but now I just use the lights or horn to confirm that.

According my close friend in the UK it also appears your winters are colder than they used to be, so comparing to older models that functioned with no problem may not be relative. It all depends on the weather and conditions at the time which are never the same.
