A friend of mine rode in the back of the CX-30 and said something similar. That does seem to be its Achilles heel.Wayne43, the back seat isn't as spacious as the HRV and the cargo area is a little smaller. The driver's seat and the passenger seat area is a lot more spacious than the HRV. In the HRV I had the driver's seat pulled all the way back in order to drive comfortably, where as in the CX-30 I don't have that issue. The driving position is extremely comfortable. My one negative so far for the CX-30 is the backseat space. I have an infant and with the rear facing car seat in the back, the passenger is in a pretty uncomfortable position.
