Maybe dumb question - how do you know if you have auto dipping? I have a select model and want to upgrade. I can do the rewiring if need to but man seems complicated. Would be nice if just a plug in… Any advice would be great.

Yeah I don’t think it’s ‘auto dipping’, I believe it’s dimming. Achieved from a sensor in the mirror to then dim it.
I am a guesser, not a fact carrying source, so that is my disclaimer if wrong.🤣

Stupid question- I have a 2020 CX-30 with the Premium package. The install shows having to run the harness down the pillar and connect there. Is there not power into the sensor cover area already that can be tapped into? It does not look difficult to follow the instructions but then again, the pictures are not the best either. Thanks in advance. Still cannot believe the prior owner got a Premium upgrade with no Homelink mirror....

I had the auto-dim, non frameless. I replaced with home link, frameless mirror and was plug and play. No run of wires needed.

Sadly, I do not have an auto dim mirror. Just the standard.....
