I paid MSRP ($about 30,025 after destination fee + cargo mat), $600 doc fee for 2021 CX-30 Polymetal Premium FWD. I guess this thread is a bit old and the markets crazier now, but most seem to have done really good in here compared to what I've read elsewhere.
I was pretty happy with MSRP based on what i've heard about the market right now, and getting the 2021 felt like a deal because Polymetal paint was still free ($395 in 2022) and it was FWD which I prefer for cheaper price, better mileage/tank size. I didn't think I could push for a discount but maybe should have tried harder, there weren't many CX-30s in my area. I was happy to talk them down from the 4k in ridiculous extras/markup they tried to add on.

I paid Mazda OEM website MSRP (+ applicable taxes) for my 2022 CX-30 CE, but refused to pay for any added non-OEM dealer options/add-ons such as tint, paint protection, etc. (even though some were already installed/included with the vehicle). Not the best market to be buying a new car right now for the most part (many are marked up well over MSRP), but the fact that I was able to get more trade value for my 2020 Corolla SE Sedan than what I paid for it brand new over 2.5 years ago was a big selling point for me & allowed me to come out of deal way ahead of the game in terms of new vehicle equity on the CX-30.

I paid MSRP in January, 2021 for my 2021 AWD Turbo. I wanted the Machine Grey Metallic, but with the GREIGE interior. They almost ALL have the Black interior. There were TWO on this side of the Mississippi; one in Roseville, CA, about 200 miles north of me, and the other in HOUSTON, TX! That's it. There were hardly ANY Turbos available then, and in retrospect to get the exact one I wanted with no gouging was sweet...

I just purchased in New Jersey. Turbo premium plus blue mica. Paid MSRP. The dealer was Ramsey Mazda and they dealt with me fairly and did not pull any stealership tricks at all. I know, for example, that “VIN etching” is a nonsense add-on to increase profit. When I spoke to the salesman on the phone a week or so before taking delivery, I had said in passing that I was aware of add-ons such as etching and that Morristown Mazda was going to charge me $395 for it. He said that they charge $195, and we left it at that. I didn’t protest or refuse to pay it or anything. Then, in the week or so since the car arrived, I’ve been on Youtube getting ready for all the nonsense and the “good cop bad cop” bs, and the F&I guy trying to hustle extras and extended warranties, and the ”10 things you should not pay for” videos. I got to the dealership in a defensive “ready for battle” mental state.

Well, lo and behold, there was none of it. I got there, was greeted immediately, sat down. They put the sales notes in front of me, which included MSRP, destination, etch, tax, tags. Nothing else. The first thing he says is “I know you didn’t want the etch, so I’ll remove it”. I know that right now dealerships are not having an easy time of it. The msrp markups are there because there is no supply and high demand. They are not making a killing because volume is crippled by inability to get stock. They have to make more per deal to stay in business. I get all that.

So, knowing etching is a profit hustle, I left it in. Because they were honest and because he remembered a 2 minute conversation from a week earlier.

Then I got to F&I and again, no BS. They gave me the factory 0.9% financing and the monthly payment was exactly what I figured it would be. They didn’t push the extended service contract. They just asked if I wanted a description of it and pricing. If I said no, I would have been out the door in 10 minutes with no pressure. But I was actually interested, and I had pre-researched Carchex and Endurance etc so I knew about what was what and how much it would cost. He made a quick straightforward presentation and quoted $1,495 to basically extend the 3-36 to 6-75. I know I’m losing the ability to select my own mechanic, but let’s face it, I want trained Mazda mechanics working on my car who see the issues and problems on a daily basis and are less likely to need to shotgun. Plus I get OEM Mazda parts at all times. Seemed worth it. So, since there was no pressure put on me and everyone behaved like a human being, I pulled the trigger and bought the extended.

All in all, it was an efficient transaction without any hustling or pressure. Admittedly, I went in with my eyes open knowing that the normal dealing process over price was not happening. It was going to take MSRP to get the car in this once-in-a-lifetime peculiar economy that we are in. But in a way, it was also less pressure then the usual procedure of fighting for 2 weeks visiting multiple dealers to save $3,000.

So I’m quite happy. I’ve got a fast and furious CX-30, 0.9% financing, and the dealership was nice to work with.

Good to know that there are still some great dealership experiences out there. (y)

I would rate my experience at 7-8/10 since I had to haggle some to get the added dealer services/products removed from the pricing (the tinted windows, "paint protection", security etching, etc.). I also had to haggle to get my trade-in up to the KBB green "fair pricing" spectrum (~$24.9K), which hilariously is more than what the 2020 vehicle was priced at brand new back in late 2019. They also did the hard sell on the extended warranties & such, but I repeatedly decline their various pitches. I was glad though that they didn't come in pushing the absurd $5K+ "market adjustment" markups over MSRP that a lot of dealerships are doing these days. Before deciding on the CX-30 AWD Carbon Edition I was at a Toyota dealership the previous week inquiring about purchasing a 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross XLE AWD & they were awful in numerous sleazy & pressure-sale ways (2-3/10 experience I would rate them).

Cool, enjoy your Carbon. It‘s a looker! I think it’s the best color that works well with the cladding that all the reviewers seem to moan about. I couldn’t get picky about color. It was either blue, black, or wait...

Yeah, I not thrilled with most of the color choices Mazda has, but I'm really happy with the Polymetal Gray/Blue Metallic & how it looks with the infamous black cladding. I will admit that I am one of those people who moaned & bitched about the thick, generic-looking black cladding on the CX-30 at every opportunity. I think Mazda could have done a better job stylizing the cladding to not be as thick & boringly uniform as it is. The Corolla Cross XLE, for example, did a better job with it's cladding IMO & how it incorporates in the style of the vehicle. But, black wheels on the CX-30 greatly helps to incorporate the cladding & create a good solid, rugged look IMO. Even more so once I managed to black-out the front chrome grill & lower side window trim (& recessed license area on lower hatch). I figured I might as well embrace the stark black vs polymetal paint contrast on my CX-30, since that it what does it for me visually. :p

Picked up my CX 30 Carbon Saturday. $29,515(sticker price) minus $500 owner loyalty. NO reduction in price with todays market.

I will highly recommended webuyanycar.com if you’re going to trade a car. Sold them a 2018 Mazda 3 touring hatch for 3k more than what the dealer offered.

2022 Soul Red Turbo Premium. Purchased at Werner Mazda in Manchester, NH. Sticker price was $34,920, which included $300 in Mazda port installed accessories (cargo net, rear bumper guard, and low wall all-weather floormats). Same as the Mazda USA website configuration with that package, color, and options.

Dealer price was $33600, and the $500 Mazda owner loyalty brought it down to $33100.

OTD price for a Mass Resident was 35,457.50 after sales tax (1787.50), title and registration, (100) and doc fees (470). An NH customer won't pay sales tax, but their registration fee scheme is completely different. YMMV. I also got Mazda's lowest financing for 60 months at 2.9%.

The buying experience was as easy as could be. No sketchy add-ons up front, and in the finance office the only add-on they offered was the warranty/service/tire packages, which I declined. The finance manager knew the brand, was easy to work with, and didn't push the hard sell. My salesman (Rob) was a great representative of the dealer and the brand, and was excellent all the way through. I'd highly recommend Werner Mazda. They do business the way I like to do business.

I'm sure I would have had just as good of an experience at the dealer closest to me (495 Mazda), but they weren't getting any Soul Red allocations any time soon. If you want a specific color/trim combination, you're going to have to wait and shop around. Call the dealers—by the time they show up on the website as in transit you're probably too late. My car didn't show up as "In Transit" until March 1st, and its initial ETA was March 12.

I purchased a Machine Gray Metallic color CX30 Turbo with Premium Plus in central New Jersey USA a few days ago (April 2022) with a build date (located inside the door jam) of January 2022.
MSRP was $34,400 plus an up charge for Gray paint of $595 + delivery charge of $1225 brings
Total MSRP to : $36,220.

A 2nd sticker was on the window titled "Enhancement Options" and it was for an additional $600. I asked my salesman what enhancement options do I get for $600 and he showed me a very thin pinstripe that I had not noticed before he pointed it out and he then pointed to the door and said I also get door edge guards. I looked at the door and did not see anything....so I said what edge guards? and he said look closer....I got very close to the door edge and saw what appeared to be a piece of thin clear scotch tape covering the edge....At that point I could not contain myself and I started laughing hard and uncontrollably...then he started laughing as well....next I said, you should be ashamed of yourselves trying to sell that pinstripe and this "scotch tape" for $600. He then said it used to be called a market adjustment but people don't like to hear that so they changed the name and added those two items.

Knowing the current status of the market, I told him I would buy the car today at MSRP if he removed the $600 "Enhanced Options" charge. He of course said he had to talk to the manager. He then went into the back room and came back out with a piece of paper that had lowered the cost from $600 to $160. He said that was the best he could do because that was the dealers cost to pay the guy to add those enhanced options.

I refused to pay the $160 and started walking out..... expecting them to stop me and further negotiate.....they didn't, they let me walk right out the door over 160 dollars.

I went home and immediately searched all 11 Mazda dealerships within a reasonable distance of my home and found dozens of CX30's in their online inventories..... but only 2 others with Turbo Premium Plus, and neither with the color I wanted.

The next morning I went crawling back to the original dealership and told them that I had ran the numbers and I can now make the additional $160 work.

This is the world we live in now folks, but similar to others on this site, I got $3000 more for my trade from Carshop.com than the dealer offered me and $2000 above the Kelly Blue book offer.

I guess you have to take the bad with the good. In the old days I might have saved $3000 on my new car but back then it's no way I would have gotten over Kelly blue book on my trade. I guess it all evens out in the end.

Oh, to wrap it up I paid $36,220 + $160 +$600 document fee (which is $300 above state average from what I read) +$2449 tax + $386 registration/title totaling $39.8K out the door.

It's been several days and I must admit I have no buyers remorse and am very happy with the vehicle.

I bought a used 2021 CX-30 Turbo base trim with 7000 miles. It was certified pre-owned and I paid 34.900$ after taxes and all fees. There was a 1000$ delivery, 400$ fees for registration, and what else and that was pretty much it. I'm located in NYC and the vehicle was shipped from 400 miles upstate. Did I get overcharged..?

Assuming there were no accessories, the MSRP of a new 2022 soul red Turbo is $32,320 including destination. But since you bought a used car, you paid a transport fee (not unusual). NYS has 4% sales tax, not sure if you get charged a local tax on top of it for NYC.

You should have a deal sheet that shows exactly what the cost of the car was. Given the used car market today it wouldn't surprise me if they charged you close to or at the MSRP of a new car.

Did you purchase an extended warranty or get any accessories?
Key1
I did not get any additional accessories and they gave me extra warranty included as it was certified pre owned but that was about. 48months/48k miles bumper to bumper and 7 Year/100K miles Warranty. They told me it had black wheel locks with black Lug nuts and Roof rails, I don't know if those are accessories.

Price breakdown was 30.995 MSRP, 1000$ delivery fee, 2250.81$ Tax, 175$ fees (mistake earlier)

Well looks like your MSRP started ~$325 below a brand new red one (Assuming delivery/destination fees offset each other) , throw in the ~200 for black lugs gets you to about $525 less than a new one.....throw in the extended bumper to bumper and drive train warranty coverages and I'd say your good. Especially in the current market.

so 48/48 months and 7/100k are extended? I wasn't too sure, I bought online and they were very quick they just wanted the money..😂
I don't know sometimes reading people got the new 2022 for couple hundred bucks more I wonder.
