Anyone else had their infotainment system screen just turn off? The radio still seems to work underneath and if I plug my iPhone in CarPlay looks to be working etc. but the screen itself is just off. I'm hoping I've somehow turned it off rather than it's failed.

Tried holding down the mute button and I can hear it turn on and off. I've also tried the BACK+NAV+MUTE combo for 10s and no dice. It's been left for a couple days locked so not sure what else to try before contacting the dealer.

I just tried that and still no luck. The music/radio underneath is still working but the screen itself is completely blank/off. Unless someone knows if there is a particular fuse for the screen I can check? I had a look at a cx30 fuse document but nothing stood out as only for the screen.

Yes, it happened to me today. Bought my car at the end of March and now I can't use my screen. It displays when I use the backup camera - but that's all. Any solution?

the way it is described it is exactly how the "DISPLAY OFF" functions when you select it - the screen will be blank but the music will play (I was playing from my USB drive when I just tried it) and also the back-up camera will display too. Didn't try any other selections.

It's in - SETTINGS - IN-VEHICLE DISPLAY - CENTER DISPLAY - DISPLAY OFF

I got it back by, when the music is playing I just simply hit the Entertainment button and it displayed as normal, you can also just go through the HOME button too and select the appropriate feature.

My DISPLAY OFF setting was okay. I did the BACK+NAV+MUTE combo and everything came back. Having intermittent problems using the Android Play app, but at least I have the screen back.

The reversing camera does not come up for me and the reset combo does not work. Think I’ll have to take it to the dealer to get them to have a looks. It sounds like the screen has failed somehow.

I ended up taking the car to the dealer and had to get a warranty replacement of the infotainment system. Whole thing was covered by the warranty so no cost to do it

My screen goes blank when I insert the perfectly good USB memory stick which contains mp3 music files. I use this stick in another car (KIA) with no issues. I recall holding the mute button worked for me as well but the overall experience was scary.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I held the mute button down until it beeped like someone in this thread suggested and it worked! The screen came right back up.

Hi,
Just managed to get my display back on by pressing and holding only the mute button. After a couple of secs it beeps, then the display comes on.
Hope this works for you too!
I know your post is months old, but I encountered the black screen this morning with by 2021 Mazda 3 Premium hatch. Googled the heck out of it and tried the usual reset button combinations, all to no avail. Then I saw your post suggesting pushing the volume/mute button down for a couple of seconds, and voila! Success!

I had just made a service appointment with my local Mazda dealer prior to seeing your post.

Thanks again!

This is what worked for me. My screen turned black all of a sudden. I tried all buttons and then did what you said. Just pressing the mute button and holding it brings the screen back.

My screen goes on a circuit. First the Mazda Emblem, then the icons pop up and then fisappear. The emblem comes back. The radio plays in the background but no way to tune it. The mute works but the hold trick isn't working. The backup camera works.
Any ideas?

Have you tried disconnecting battery for a couple of minutes?
That could reset/reboot system

For everyone wondering about the blank screen problem, it's actually a feature. Holding down the Mute/Power button for 2 seconds will turn off the screen. Doing the same again will turn it back on. This I can confirm is true of 2021 CX-30's.
