Hello everyone,

My partner installed a kicker hs8 into my CX-30. We struggled to find any guide to the speaker wiring colors and had to take apart a lot of paneling to find out. I have the 2021 Mazda CX-30 select with standard 8 speaker sound system. Here is what we found:

Rear passenger:
White (-)
Green (+)

Rear driver: Same as rear passenger
White (-)
Green (+)

Front passenger door and driver door:
Both purple and pink.

Front passenger dash:
Baby pink (-)
Baby blue (+)

Front driver dash:
Blue (-)
Red (+)

I have included a photo of the speaker wires at the amp showing the red, blue, baby blue, and pink wires. I have also included a photo of the rear and front door wires as well. Since the left and right wiring was the same color for the front and back door speakers, we decided to tap in to the dash speakers to get it working. Hopefully this is helpful to someone!!

Is that all that's lacking with the system? Are the higher frequencies crispy? And thanks, I'm thinking the Select is all I need as well. My wife got the Kona, but I always liked the CX-30 better.

Are you considering a CX-30 as a replacement for your Kia? If so, why not start a new thread in General Discussion asking your questions there.

Hi, when you say that the picture is from amp the connector: Is the one under the passenger seat? Or is from the head unit at the dash?

Thanks in advance!

I think so. The wire loom is just under the seat and does not has enough clearance to work with it with the seat in place, not even moving full forward or back.
Attached a picture of how it looks without the plastic shield and disconnecting the speakers connector.

The connectors are facing to the door side and is just beneath the seat. The blackish bar in the front of the picture is the lever used to move seat back and forth

Don't have a Mazda but just helped my son install a powered sub in his 2021 CX30. Used this thread during install so figured I drop some results.

The rear speakers are very small. I'm guessing Mazda restricted the bass tones going to these speakers so green and white not ideal to tap into.

We tapped into the baby pink and baby blue for one channel and red and blue for the other. Tapped right off the connection to the amp with saudered connections.

We purchased but ended up not needing the line out converter. Sub works with line in as tapped.

I spent hours looking for a ignition only power source for the remote wire. Nothing in the interior fuse box is ignition only, I tested all of them with a multimeter. The power to the factory amp is also always hot with battery connected For now we put in a switch on the wire untill we figure it out.

I just got a 2022 cx-30 select and I love it. I wanted to add my sub in and used this thread for guidance. I can confirm the polarity appears to be correct as stated above and I tapped into the front dash speakers which are full range. You don't have to tap into the amp wiring harness.

I was able to tap into the front passenger wiring harness that is under the lower door panel. It pulls right up and you just have to carefully cut around the wire protector. Now there are multiple wires are the same colors as the speaker wires but I was able to determine that the smaller twisted pairs of the wires are the speakers.

Here are some of the pictures from my install.

Hope this helps everyone!

2022 cx30 preferred factory system was okay for not having base, so I had part of my old system custom installed @ Custom Sounds in San Antonio. Wiring heat-shrunk and soldered JL Audio RD 500/1 mounted under driver seat with JL Audio 12” subs LC2i-TWO CHANNEL LINE OUTPUT® CONVERTER WITH ACCUBASS was integrated into factory infotainment. No distortion up to sound 55. Sounds thunderous-awesome!

I am thinking about the same car with a single 10" JL Audio sub. I am curious, how much extra trunk space do you have with your set up?
