I love the commander knob and how everything functions. I prefer this to a touch screen any day. Before I got the vehicle there were so many negative comments about this. I am glad I ignored them. I can definately see why Mazda went this way, from a safety aspect.

Yes, once you get used to it then it is pretty nice. I was already used to it in my 2017 Miata and while there are some things that are different in the CX-30, the overall use is the same.

Yes, my partner and I are a mixed household - he’s Apple and I’m Android. He has his lightening cable in the front tray, and when I drive my Pixel goes in the center console. We’ve never tried to connect them both at the same time. I think that would fall into the category of “crossing the streams” - something to be avoided at all costs.

It's growing on me. The process is being made more difficult by my old golden retriever who over the years has developed the habit of curling up in the passenger seat with his muzzle resting on my right thigh. Of course that means his paw often adjusts the settings unexpectantly. So much for my delight at finding Mazda did not have the mirror controls between the seats!

I think the Connect system is brilliant, personally. Very straightforward and easy to navigate through.
