I just updated my Navigation SD card to the June map release. I bought my SD card from eBay last fall as I was planning to buy a Mazda 3. When the the CX-30 was released, I decided to lease it instead and took delivery December 30. I updated my SD card in early January to the December, 2019 release.
When I launched the Mazda Toolbox app today (Windows 10) it checked for any PROGRAM updates which there was, and I chose to update the toolbox program. After it was done updating, I logged in and the program said there was a new Map update available. I followed the instructions, inserted my SD card when prompted to, and made a backup when asked. When the backup was done, I was prompted if I wanted to update the Maps. I chose yes and the Toolbox update program downloaded and installed the June update. When done there was a prompt to “Exit”. After I exited the program, I ejected the SD card using the tool bar, notification area icon to do so.
When I inserted the SD card and then started my car, I selected Navigation. To my surprise, the normal Map didn’t come up in the display and I saw the screen you get when you choose “Navigation” without having a SD card inserted. I took a deep breath, turned off the car and then ejected and reinserted the SD card. This time when I started up the car and chose “Navigation “, things started up normally and everything appears to be working correctly.
So, my Navigation SD card, purchased last year, has successfully updated to the December Maps last January and the June Maps today.
