Hi, I'm looking forward to joining this community! I took delivery in late March of a Soul Red CX-30 SP, which is the top model among the 3 trim lines offered in Thailand. All trim lines get a 2.0L gas engine with 165 horsepower. Out-the-door price here in Thailand is almost 30% more than in the US due to taxes and duties. The SP model goes for 1.2 million Thai Baht (~US$36.6K) and Soul Red adds another 17K THB (US$520). In Thailand, new cars have nationwide fixed prices with very little room to negotiate. After talking with multiple dealership and walking away from several negotiations, I ended up with a tiny discount of 20K THB, a resonable trade in allowance, permission to charge 100K THB (US$3.1K) on my credit card without a 3% surcharge, and pretty much all the accessories that they have available in Thailand (rubber floor mats, plastic cargo tray, wind deflector for windows, door sill protectors, front and rear mud guards, and basic window tint (I paid extra to get ceramic tint). I also get one year of free car insurance and extension to 5 years (originally 3 years) of the car warranty. Fortunately there's no haggling over dealer prep fees, doc fees and the like here.
In addition to being right hand drive, I've also spotted a few other differences from models sold in N. America (at least based on some of the forum posts I've seen). These include 360 degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, side-view mirrors that automatically retract after the car is locked, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and 12V socket that powers off shortly after car is shut off (read elsewhere that 12V stays on full-time).
As soon as I got the car, I did a light clay bar and put two coats of Blackfire paint sealant. I am annoyed by the upcharge for red, but am happy I did it. The color looks amazing in the sun! I am loving the car, though I did drop the tire pressure from 36 to 34 to try and soften the ride just a bit. Roads here can be bumpy depending on where you are in town.
