Hi, I'm looking forward to joining this community! I took delivery in late March of a Soul Red CX-30 SP, which is the top model among the 3 trim lines offered in Thailand. All trim lines get a 2.0L gas engine with 165 horsepower. Out-the-door price here in Thailand is almost 30% more than in the US due to taxes and duties. The SP model goes for 1.2 million Thai Baht (~US$36.6K) and Soul Red adds another 17K THB (US$520). In Thailand, new cars have nationwide fixed prices with very little room to negotiate. After talking with multiple dealership and walking away from several negotiations, I ended up with a tiny discount of 20K THB, a resonable trade in allowance, permission to charge 100K THB (US$3.1K) on my credit card without a 3% surcharge, and pretty much all the accessories that they have available in Thailand (rubber floor mats, plastic cargo tray, wind deflector for windows, door sill protectors, front and rear mud guards, and basic window tint (I paid extra to get ceramic tint). I also get one year of free car insurance and extension to 5 years (originally 3 years) of the car warranty. Fortunately there's no haggling over dealer prep fees, doc fees and the like here.

In addition to being right hand drive, I've also spotted a few other differences from models sold in N. America (at least based on some of the forum posts I've seen). These include 360 degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, side-view mirrors that automatically retract after the car is locked, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and 12V socket that powers off shortly after car is shut off (read elsewhere that 12V stays on full-time).

As soon as I got the car, I did a light clay bar and put two coats of Blackfire paint sealant. I am annoyed by the upcharge for red, but am happy I did it. The color looks amazing in the sun! I am loving the car, though I did drop the tire pressure from 36 to 34 to try and soften the ride just a bit. Roads here can be bumpy depending on where you are in town.

The red is a great color, even with the upcharge. As for the different features, Mazda seems to be offering different options in each market. Even within North America there are significant differences between what's offered in the US and Canada. Hope you are enjoying your new car and welcome to the forum!
Congrats @MikeH, did you notice any differences in the cx-30 accessories list for Thailand vs what's in this thread?: 2020 Mazda CX-30 Accessories
Welcome to the forum Mike and congrats on the new CX-30! The red is definitely worth the extra price. Have you owned other Mazdas before or is this your first?

As far as I know, the only accessories available in Thailand are: side window deflectors, door scuff plates (non illuminated), carpeted floor mats, piano black protection film for interior and exterior (two separate options), front and rear mud guards, Skyactive license plate holder, luggage tray and door mirror covers (jet black).

A number of items on the list you referenced are standard equipment on the SP (top of the line) model. I indicate below what's included as standard (Standard), an optional accessory (Option) or not available (NA). I am making my list based on the Thailand CX-30 brochure as well as what my salesman said to me. It's possible that some of the items I marked as NA might be available if I called the parts department:

  • Frameless Auto-Dim Mirror w/ Homelink® (NA)
  • Mazda Navigation System (SD card is an Option)

Thanks! My first Mazda was a 1996 Miata M-Edition, which I had when I lived in Hawaii back in the 90's. The paint was called Starlight Mica (a gorgeous dark blue/purple metallic) and it had a tan top and tan leather interior. Since then I've had at least a dozen different cars from most of the big Japanese and European automakers, but it's my first visit back to Mazda in 20 years!

Funny enough, I ordered and purchased this car without a test drive (was just launched in Thailand and not available for testing when I was ready to buy). I did test drive the CX-5 months earlier (and nearly bought one) but it felt just a little too big for my needs (I don't have kids). So when I heard about the CX-30 and saw the reviews online, I knew it was the car for me.

Welcome, I also purchased it without a test drive, although I was offered, but declined. Wanted to drive my own as my mind was allready made up. Very happy and enjoying it so far?

Now that must've been a blast to drive. I have a soft spot for Miatas, nothing like a pure drivers car!
Welcome @MikeH! Do you see a lot of CX-30s in your area in Thailand?

Haven't seen a single one on the road yet!

You get a lot of looks then if you haven't seen another one yet.

That must be really cool being the only one.
