I don’t have the mymazda app because I am in Canada. But everyone that has this has reported the same as you. When you unlock car it stops the engine. It’s a safety feature.
Remote start engine from MyMazda App
I tried to start the engine from MyMazda app and it was successful. But the engine was stopped when I opened the car door. Is it normal when we start the engine from MyMazda app?

It is normal when you open your car door, the engine shuts off. So you have to start it up again. It is for security reasons.I tried to start the engine from MyMazda app and it was successful. The Mazda installed remote starter with fob operates the same way

I don't understand the vehicle manufactures intent of shutting down the engine when unlocking. Our Salesman mentioned security when demonstrating the remote start. I find it an annoyance and unnecessary to engage the starter a second time, every time the remote start is used.
Honda uses the same logic. I opted for aftermarket remote starters on the two new Honda's I had purchased, partially because of the need to restart after unlocking and the range of the remote was only 200' +/-.
I am a fan of the app based remote starters. You can start the vehicle anywhere you have cell service.
I am living in the mountains without cell service. It is very unfortunate to not have the remote start now.

New member. Had my cx30 a couple of weeks now. Love it. Does anyone else have issues with the mymazda app? I get fail notifications for engine start unlock etc. Yet I know the app works cause it's got my tire pressure and milage oh and door unlocked notification after I lock my doors 🤦🏼♂️
The logic behind the engine stopping when the door is opened is to prevent theft. It insures that the driver has the key. I wouldn’t want a remote start system without it.

I have the Mazda factory remote start with fob and have had no issues starting
If my doors aren't locked the car won't remote start with the Mazda App that could be your issue widdle one

It's the only feature I sorta miss from my 2017 Nissan Qashqai that I had was remote start from the factory.The Mazda installed remote starter with fob operates the same way
I cannot complain about remote start on my US Premium as it came with remote start built right in & can control from your phone which I always have lol. I wish more markets had that 😔It's the only feature I sorta miss from my 2017 Nissan Qashqai that I had was remote start from the factory.
