I wonder if it will only be available for versions that don't have a spare tire though.

Is there a forum member who has Mazda connections (dealer, Corporate etc) who can answer authoritatively (1) is the the smart cargo option/accessory a real Mazda item? and, if Yes, (2) if and when it'd be available and at what cost? The video makes the cargo area of the CX-30 work like a Swiss Army knife...in a good way! Its a neat idea...

the pdf file on the first post confirms it's an official Mazda accessory, but at this point for Europe only.

it's a Mazda accessory and for RHD models (UK and Ireland), it's over 430Euros! Woah!

Thank you all for the information. From the YouTube video reviews I've seen, Mazda likes to equip their cars differently in different countries. Top trim European CX-30's get heated mirrors, heated steering wheels, 360º cameras, front parking sensors...and now, neat cargo options. It would be nice if Mazda provided those choices/options for United States customers as well. I guess time will tell...

People like different things, but then why limit the options by market region?

Why not have all options available in all markets - even if requiring an upcharge?

I'm sure the answer must be due to costs somehow, but I think many people would have been willing to pay extra to get some of those features and accessories.

I’ve heard about it it’s not an option I’m most markets because the spare tire takes up the space it uses. But yes in markets that don’t have the spare tire it is an option

Interesting - I didn’t know this was a costed option. Got it for no extra charge on my CX-30 I picked up last week (UK, GT Sport Tech)

I actually kind of like the Smart Cargo System. Did a little digging and found there are two different models, one for cars with Bose (DFS2V0580) and one without (DFR9V0580). It's about 345 Euros, god know what the shipping would be.

The smart cargo system looks good but is expensive. Pity these sorts of features aren't an inherent part of the design ...

Our CX-30 has just arrived at the dealership, factory order GT Sport Tech 2.0 SkyActiv-X 2WD Manual : Soul Red Crystal

I enquired regarding the accessory "Boot mat with rear bumper protection". My Salesmen said he would have to confirm as there are 3 versions of this accessory. I said I needed the version without Smart Cargo System and with BOSE

He replied saying he would have to check if I had the Smart Cargo System (SCS), I said "definitely not" as this is a £350 accessory! The Salesman then added that they recently received a CX-30 which included the SCS, yet no-one had ordered it??? Either this was a fluke or Mazda are shipping this with certain trim levels?! He said he will try to check my vehicle and confirm.

I sent a direct message to Mazda UK and they have confirmed that they are now shipping the Smart Cargo System (certain trim levels?) with vehicles - See below

Since then the Salesman has be in touch and confirmed it's in the back of our CX-30

... no just a boot protector mat from Costco..fits like a glove👍
