I have a question - should I start waxing the car right away, or is there a period of time that the paint needs to be left alone before you start protecting it?.....i'm into detailing , so it will be well looked after....
Thanks for the overview! But final question - polish? A new car? Isn't that just to remove scratches and swirls? All paint even new paint have impurities..you could just wash then Glaze or polish and then wax, then a wipe over with hydrophobic sealant. Basically..
Foam
Wash
Clay
Glaze/polish
Sealant
Wax
Found this... showing the 3 stage spray process..managed to get a couple of screen shots from the Spanish video showing the production at the Mazda plant in Mexico. It shows the under coat before they apply the Soul Red paint, which ties in with what a salesman was trying to explain to me when I asked why that specific colour was so expensive.
(update - what happened to the screen shot I posted? Here it is again)

Looks great! I could never afford M&K products. But Turtle Wax Seal & Shine is in my price range - I'll pick some up today...a new car will have swirls from the dealership pdi ....I've just washed our cx30.. applied M&K bavaria sealant. Anvil wax... And just to add an extra gloss and hydrophobic layer Turtle wax seal and shine....( This has had great reviews and is cheap .)
What do you think
Just get the paint washed and polished ... Apply the TW SPARINGLY. a little goes along way...stand back and admire...also good on plastics, bumpers and glass....I even use it on our shower screenLooks great! I could never afford M&K products. But Turtle Wax Seal & Shine is in my price range - I'll pick some up today.
Looking good..
Does that mean the undercoat is grey for all colours?managed to get a couple of screen shots from the Spanish video showing the production at the Mazda plant in Mexico. Right at the end of the video he points out mottling on the rest of the car. Is this something that anyone has noticed?Found this... showing the 3 stage spray process..
