Just backing up my SD card before updating the maps in toolbox to see if this can be enabled. It is in the manual under navigation settings but also says may not be enabled in some countries (I believe parts of Europe it would be illegal) I'm wondering if you need to update in a country that allows it to turn it on. Will update later as backing this card up takes a while!

Addendum this could also be a software version thing. If maps update doesn't work I'll ping the dealer over the weekend.

Thanks for that I'm on version '45 which explains why it's missing. I've asked my dealer to update as I'm missing options in the manual that are in that version. Will let you know what they say.

Spoke to my dealer he's confirmed there's an update that can be done I need to give them a call tomorrow to get it arranged. I'll keep you all up to date.

Cheers

My dealer asked me to contact the service team which I did to get booked in.

I did and they asked was it being done because I wanted it or because it fixes something. I said it fixes the missing warnings menu mentioned in the current manual but not on my model.

Car is booked in for Monday afternoon for a software update, given I already updated the mapdata via the Mazda update toolbox if the only remaining issue is the version of the software (from my 45 to 47 I believe) and there's not been an addition of any kind of newly applied geolocking (unlikely as I've seen some UK owners have it on new cars - thanks for the updates folks!) it should be activated.

I'll report back then.

Thanks all.

There is but it may not be listed as a main dealer update, e.g to put on as a default, if you go into your software version in the information option on your infotainment system Im betting you have either version ending 42 or, more likely, 45 (as is mine)

644

The speed camera warnings should be (according to the manual as shown on the Mazda site) in the navigations settings under "warnings" that is not present in the versions up to 45.

Release notes say it appears in CONNECT II Version 7000C0A-EU01_10047

Also in that version are fixes for display lockups and some issues with the navigation options glitching under certain circumstances.

Thats the software update you need applied.

It is possible to apply yourself but I really, really would not recommend that in case it causes issues with your system and then you get issues with warranty resolution.

As I mentioned my dealer is great and they really are helpful but they didnt know that this option was available on the CX30 and that a subsequent update was released. My guess is its generally only updated in order to correct another issue.

One other point, if you do have the later version and the warnings options are there I would recommend updating your SD card maps. Set some time aside for this as backing up my card and then updating took the best part of 3 hours when I did it which was nothing to do with my internet speed (380mb+)

Thanks

Ed

Got a new 2020 Maz3 and same exact issue in Aus. @Edz2k20 I have 10042 and same as you, no options for warnings in the system. Spoke to dealer and they said they don't do software updates during a service. Pretty pathetic IMO. They suggested to try updating the maps via SD card but doubt it'll do anything
Hi
You're right, first thing I did, ran the maps backup and update via the toolbox, in your case it may well bring in speed camera data (they show on the navigation map) but without an update to the software '10047 there are no warnings available in the navigation menu. At this point I have mine scheduled for Monday. Assuming it all goes as planned and 10047 or higher is installed ok I'll report back if it activates the feature.

Meantime You could try asking the dealer specifically for an update to 10047 as it fixes known lockups and issues with the infotainment (as well as adding the warnings), if you go to the link PeterK posted on page 1 for HiDrive theres a PDF document that runs through all the corrections in the update. NB it also contains the update itself and instructions on doing it via USB but I would advise strongly against doing it yourself unless you're happy and are absolutely sure it wont invalidate any warranties should it go wrong, I'd never advise that route as I wouldnt want to be responsible for someone having warranty issues or bricking their cars features.

At first they weren't aware of the option being available on the new Mazda range, I then went back with the version details and screenshots of the option being on the same model. The dealer then confirmed that yes an option was available.

When I called the service team the reception did ask was this required to fix something or because I wanted it.

I said that it was to correct the fact that options specified in the manual which are missing because of the firmware.

Of course, as yet, it hasn't been installed! As long as they install the 47 version (and don't try to reinstall 45 or similar) then we'll see if it appears :)

has anyone done the 100047 firmware update from the hidrive link?
I really considered it and it's my fallback plan if I don't get any joy on Monday. The thing putting me off is the installation instructions saying if it fails you need to reset the system by disconecting the battery etc as well as the instructions saying to check does the voice recognition work afterward.

Quite a few videos on the internet cover it I think but some seem to shy away. My concern was whether it impacts warranty if it bricks the unit. Although it seems reset and retry is possible. That would be my next go to if this doesn't work lol 😜

Lol :) remember the options are now alert off, always or alert if over the speed limit only. I'd guess the always alert is like my CX 5 was and likely your CX 3 in that she'll say speed camera if you're being 'good' ;) or say speed camera, reduce your speed if you've drifted over the limit.

Aaaaand...

all done.

Arrived at the dealers and explained the situation again to clarify (there was some confusion as to whether it was the map data).

Took a seat and had a nice coffee and 30 minutes later all sorted. Dealer said sorry that this should really have been caught at Pre Delivery Inspection but its likely as the car is a new model the version update wasn't caught.

Got in the car and first of all hit the phone / speak a command button - yup all ok. Checked the version and Im now on 10047 complete with the navigation "warnings" menu). Set that to always warn with audio.

Diverted my route back home to go past a camera I know well and yup, small bong and then "speed camera ahead", wasnt going over the limit so no "reduce your speed".

Happy days, all done :)
