I own a Premium CX-30. It's clearly a great vehicle. Lots of tech, lots of cool features, good ride, great handling, great looks, good performance, and the list goes on.

All vehicles have things we don't like. With the CX-30 it is a very short list for me.

Based on what I know personally and what I am reading in the forums - I am beginning to believe the largest number of CX-30 complaints are features Mazda decided to include in one country and not in another.

For me, it's the lack of heated mirrors. Why Mazda decided to omit heated mirrors in Northeast US is way beyond my understanding. Even entry-level vehicles include heated mirrors. We often have terrible winters in NE Ohio and my mirrors are often frozen when I get into the vehicle. Without being able to heat them up makes it a safety issue for me.

Am I supposed to carry a can of deicer aerosol now ?

It's a $30k vehicle. If you are reading these forums Mazda, ADD HEATED MIRRORS IN THE US AND CANADA IF YOU DON'T INCLUDE THEM THERE EITHER.

I agree. I understand the need to limit features to hit certain price points, and I think the CX-30 is an AMAZING value (love my Premium FWD!) but I can't understand the decision to not offer heated mirrors at least on the top trim levels where price sensitivity is not quite as pronounced. It's a total head scratcher for me.

We get the heated mirrors and steering wheel in Canada.

To be honest I would have passed on the car if they didn’t have it.
same here (y) , heated: seats, mirrors, & steering wheel are a must on any future vehicle I purchase (I have then on my current vehicle and wouldn't do without them)

I concur with all of you --- heated mirrors, heated steering wheel and 'direction lines' with the back up camera (for those tight parking spots in the city).
I agree on both heated mirrors and reverse camera directional lines.
Those are either standard or available in most other similar cars.

I would have also preferred fold-flat rear seats and a storage compartment in the hatch.

For me it's a more cosmetic addition that's not available in the UK. I really like the look of the chrome roof rails which always seem available in the USA but we cannot even order them as an extra here.
We have hearted seats, mirrors and lines on the reversing camera and also able to fit towbars. Strange state of affairs isn't it.
Still loving the car overall tho' It is a bit of a looker in black when polished.

I've noticed that too -- the trans is often not smooth at lower driving speeds! Wonder if that's a common issue with the CX 30?
Yes, It's been noticed by other members here and mentioned in some of the reviews including Car and Driver, so I think you could call this normal characteristic of the CX-30. Minor complaint not something to worry about.

My only complaints are minor. 1) Automatic engaged parking brake that can't be disabled and 2) jerky/hesitation transmission at lower speeds.
If this criteria is met:
1, door closed
2, seat belt done up

you can put the car in drive and push down on the gas pedal. The parking break will disengage automatically.

Feels weird but it works.

Of the things on the car now, I have two complaints:

1. The scratched up instrument cluster plastic.
2. The driver's side mirror shake.

Things I think would be nice to have in the 2020 model:

1. Heated mirrors for sure.
2. Heated steering wheel? Never had one so not sure how much of a necessity this is, even in the sometimes below zero MN winters.
3. The back-up camera directional and spacial trajectory lines.
4. "Cooler" looking DRLs. I'm honestly in DRL envy when I see some of the ones around these days. And I don't mean just high end cars either.

Overall, the car seems to be a good value thus far. I have just under 4000 miles on it and assuming it turns out to be a reliable automobile, it's fine. It's by now means a "head turner." For me, I wanted something with AWD that was SUVish. My son's car took a dump so the decision to purchase this one was made somewhat hastily in order to give him my 16 Camry, which I miss as a daily driver.

That said, the tech in the 30 is good. And for the price I paid for the Preferred, so far so good. I struggle with getting the plastic and mirror fixed. My experience with most dealerships is that whenever you bring your car in for item A to get replaced, items B and C suffer damage. We'll see...i might wait until closer to the warranty expiring or leave them as is altogether.
