USB ports not registering

I have a 2021 CX-30 that does not seem to recognize the USB ports under the Entertainment option. These ports do work, as I can plug in a flashdrive and it will light up, and I can plug a phone in and it will charge. I formatted the flashdrive to FAT32 as I believe I needed to do and I have audio files on it, but it still did not register (USB 1 and USB 2 options are greyed out in the source list). Anyone have any ideas?

what size flash drive? i believe your year and model supports 32Gb or less and does not recognize usb 3.0 or higher.

It's a 32 GB flashdrive, and I don't think it's USB 3 or higher. Maybe I'll just try to find a different flashdrive around to see if something else works.

I tried mine 32g 2.0 usb a. First I got a message usb not supported. 2024 cx-30
Than I tried again with a different cable. Now it works. Go figure?

Strange that, I have a 32Gb usb stick formatted to FAT32 and I've used it in 4 different makes of vehicle with no issues. I did try a EXFAT 64Gb one (as the 32gb is almost full) but the Mazda didn't recognize it.
I don't use a cable, just plug a stick in direct.

I use Lexar JumpDrive S47 128Gb plugged directly into the port without any issues.
