Bonnet/Hood Protection

Hi there,

I hope to see my new CX30 in Snowflake White, at the end of this month (or maybe early next month).

I've been wondering about bonnet/hood protection. There is the factory Mazda shield, in a smoked acrylic, but that only looks to protect the front panel between the hood and the grill/headlights. I was considering some of the thicker 3M clear vinyl instead? Plus, the factory smoked acrylic guard would probably look not so great on the white.

I'm just wondering what every is using out there, if at all.

Cheers,

Mike

Sebas999 is offering excellent advice in that you can buy kits of variuos pieces/parts from many vendors...but it not an easy job to install it. The YouTube vids make it look easy. I have put PPF product on all my cars over the years, mostly on hood, bumper area and lower sections that are prone to damage, so i do speak from expeeience. The first time I did it it took me many hours and much frustration and it doesn't get easier, especially with the hoods on cars today that have positive and negative angles/curves...nothing flat anymore. I did my hood and front end similar to Sebas999 (nice job), but it took me many years of practice.

Plus you will need a heated garage and a friendly helper. Not trying to discourage you and it is cheaper as a DIY project, but once it's down you cannot easily lift it off and redo it, so you toss it. Think of trying to wrap a football with plastic wrap film and having it all nice and wrinkle free. ;-)

Good luck...J.

Good tip - I might go for this DIY:
Mazda CX30 Partial Front
Good Lucky ! it is an art to do this work. For the price difference with installation and guarantee of installation without imperfections it is worth having it done by the pros. full hood bumper headlights 2 mirrors 2 A pillars and between windsheild and sunroof 1000$ canadian.
