So no facts, just assumptions.
Thanks,
I have 25 years of experience as a consultant to the manufacturing industry, almost exclusively auto manufacturing. I am a injection molding tech with my own consulting business. My client including ALL automotive manufactures in North America. If you want to access the EPA and DOT requirements they are available on line. However, there are reams and reams of documents that only the manufacturers attorneys peruse. From all that the specs are provided to their techs, if they have them, and to the suppliers that provide the majority of the parts used in the production/assembly lines.

There is a technical service bulletin put out by Mazda regarding the scratching of the plastic on the instrument panel due to improper cleaning on the new vehicles by the dealer prior to delivery to the customer. Remind the dealership that there scratches like that are a known issue and they should have a bulletin in their files telling them how to deal with that.

When I bought my 2024 in April it was also scratched in a couple spots I decided not to have the dealership replace it because I did not want to have the dashboard torn apart on a brand new car possibly causing rattles down the road. Mine isn't scratched and bad enough that I can't deal with it. If yours is what you consider to be bad then by all means contact the dealership.

The number on the official Mazda Service Alert is SA-039/22

Maguire's plastx and a eyeglass lens cloth, slightly damped, will remove all but the worst scratches. Our neighbors Rav 4 and their Subaru had been scratched by over-enthusiastic cleaning, looked good after about 20 minutes of attention.

I just got a quote, over 400. to replace. It's about 100 for the part but they are not even giving me a break on the cost of labor. I doubt I'd buy from them again. I'd buy the part if they could discount the labor, or eat some of the labor. I feel that is fair but I guess I'm asking for too much!!!

there are instructions on polishing the screen in this forum, it's a 20 min job.

okay I'll look for it. It seemed to me that only made things worse.
Use a polish made for the purpose, such as Meguiars plastx, damp lens cleaning cloth, and light pressure. Go one direction only for best result. Works on piano blacks parts as well.
