I'll say it again, the air filter should last "AT LEAST" 30,000 miles. Now granted that is not going to account for extraordinary circumstances like very dusty off-road usage, but the reality is most air filters are replaced well before they have actually gotten enough debris accumulated to cause any kind of an issue. Did you know that there are vehicles today that don't have a published service interval and the filter is classified as a lifetime component? Auto manufacturers also use filter restriction indicators Amazon.com: GM Genuine Parts AFM4 Air Filter Restriction Indicator : Automotive because just the opening of the air filter box to inspect the filter allows more dirt to enter the engine than if it was left alone. Many manufacturers prefer that the filter is left alone until it is confirmed that it is in need of servicing or serviced based on the recommended service interval.
wow, you can say it all you want but there are many factors. If it's dirty then you should replace it! Period. For example, just had service done today, and both engine and cabin filters were suggested to replace, I choose not to at this time but will check on them in a few months and buy online and replace myself. I have 15,800 kms in 18 months proving that mileage and time does not matter.

I'm in Canada and I'm having difficulty finding an air filter, not the cabin filter and not an OEM (which is priced at $43.25 Canadian at the Mazda Dealer), for our 2020 CX-30.
Does anybody know what company has these available?
OR
Does anybody know of one, made for a different model, that will fit the CX-30?
Thank you.
When I bought my 2021 CX-30 I went to Amazon and got a K&N air filter no problem had it in a day or two.

Define "Dirty". I have to laugh because I'm about to show you a picture of my Mazda's filter at 32.4K miles but the reality is you usually can't tell if a filter needs to be replaced by just looking at it. (excluding extreme instances) You actually have to weigh the filter to truly know if it has trapped all of the dirt that it can hold, or you have to measure the engine's maximum airflow under a wide open throttle acceleration and see if it has diminished. This isn't anywhere near requiring replacement.

So it’s Purolator or Wix if you want what a filter is supposed to do….filter debris.
Interesting.
