My CX-30 Skyactiv-X was collected yesterday for it's 4th service, no previous comms for recalls or "Special Service Campaign".

I got a call from the local dealer advising it was subject to a recall, something to do with radiator.
Apparently, parts are on back order and could take 2-3 weeks, so that's me in a cheap hire car for the duration 😢

I was probably expecting too much to find details about the recall on-line easily ;). Not found any for my car though.
I was contacted last year, it was an update and inspection of the rad. I was told it was an issue with the X running hot (even now there's a lot of heat soak after switching off, feels as hot as our GLA did after a DPF regen. I was told there was no spanner work unless they found damage.

My only worry is given how badly they dealt with diesel owners will we be left to sort out issues with the X out of warranty. I know traders who won't touch a 6 or a CX5 with the 2.2d. I'll be extending my warranty to the end of the PCP.

If the car is on finance and you're in a hire car for over a week, make noises about compensation. I know of drivers who were in hire cars for 6 months plus due to back order parts back when I worked for a franchise a lifetime ago. Not common, but not unknown either and you're paying to be in a Mazda.

Good point re. compensation, It's already on my mind for the very near future.

My cx30 has been found with a bad leak in the radiator in the first MOT and I was told this is a recall that Mazda is currently working in. Have been 3 weeks in a courtesy car still waiting for ETA of the radiator parts. Apparently there is a back order from the Japan factory … :(
Hopefully you're back in the CX30 by now, happy?
If you don't mind sharing, how long was it off the road and were there any subsequent problems?

My CX-30 is back after 8 days in a rental, fully serviced, faulty wing mirror motors replaced, 2 new tyres, freshly MOT'd and valeted. Feels like a new car all over again and drives like a dream. Many thanks to Motorlux Mazda in Newbury (UK) for great customer service.

Yesterday I got an email from Mazda informing about a Special Service Campaign that affects my vehicle. The word 'recall' was no used.
Anyway - Potential crack in a radiator and a software update of the powertrain module to optimise the fuel injection performance.
Booked with my local dealer for Monday to sort it out. They said they haven't seen any with the cracked radiator so far.
Same, issue withbRad recall.
Took mine in for a service. After which the rad recall was announced. After it was completed drove car home fine next day Amber engine light came on. Drove car straight back to the garage, who checked it and said they need to keep it as the injectors need cleaning. No idea why changing a radiator would lead to an injector issue. That was 9 days ago. I'm now in a brand new Mazda 2 hybrid, which is actually quite fun to drive. Never the less the issue remains along with another separate one. Luckily, all is covered by a 6 month warranty as I only purchased the car 5 months ago. Had a the faulty wing mirror issue, a broken roll bar strutt, and noise from the awd, which is apparently a wheel bearing. Still to be resolved and confirmed that is the true source of the constant whine noise.
Apart from that owning a CX-30 has not been a favourable experience thus far.
